Ju-on: The Grudge and more!
Posted: Tuesday, 1 December 2009 by Spoonykipper inWell I've been talking to my friend Shury(or mew) about scary films and such and she has been bugging me for awhile to watch some. I'd say I don't mind most films but psychological horror films really...just mess with my head >.< and having a vivid imagination it normally means I will be having a hard time sleeping for awhile etc.
Shury came up with this list of films I should watch: Paranormal Activity and The Grudge films also after watching those to then play the Wii game of The Grudge and film myself. I finally gave in and watch Paranormal Activity, the film reminded me in part of the Blair Witch (that kept me up) and they did have some eerie moments mainly at night. But overall I spent most of the film thinking why are they doing this and are they going to call said "demon expert"? But no they didn't call him and yes they did stupid things and oh look....your dead now...wow. I'd say it had it's moment but meh I'd I've done things a hell of a lot differently.
After that I moved on the The Grudge (US remake)I think this was just hyped up a lot by watching clips on youtube and Shury saying about the film. It was an OK film (had one "why?" moment when the detective went to go burn the house down but before he get's started goes to find out what that sound is?? An get's killed) but also being a US remake they killed most of the horror things the original film had. I then moved on to play the Wii game and I wasn't looking forward to it to walk around the house from The Grudge or some empty warehouse etc with just a flashlight and.....er yeah just a flashlight, I set my webcam up to record and played the game for the first time! I'd say I made it through the game fine ^^ not like some of the people you see on Youtube screaming like girls and when I can get the film uploaded I'll show you all. I've since got hold of the original film of The Grudge and The grudge 2&3 so I'll be watching those soon and hopefully wont be jibbering in the corner after
